No two coaching clients are the same. Each person has unique experiences, goals, needs and personality traits, and you must coach them accordingly.
It’s easy to account for these differences in individual coaching sessions, but peer-to-peer groups can present additional challenges for both you and the group participants. When leading these sessions, your job is to ensure everyone is cordial, useful and on-topic—no matter how different each participant is. Create A Funny Name To Address A Serious Problem
Start by asking the group where they tend to lose value during the meeting. Inevitably, they will name problems like “going on tangents.” Perfect! Now the group can make up a funny code word for when this happens. It could be a word like “unicorn” because the tangent is like a long fairy tale story. The point is to have fun, create an insider feeling and to have a humorous way to get refocused.
